Mail Server Settings for your Favorite email software on your computer and mobile devices!
Incoming Server: mail.vplp.net
Username: use your full email address example: your_username@vplp.net
POP3 (Port 110) or SSL POP3 (Port 995)
IMAP (Port 143) or SSL IMAP (Port 993)
Outgoing Server: mail.vplp.net
SMTP (port 25) for normal and SSL connections.
Always Enable outgoing server authentication, on your computer select use same login information as incoming server, on mobile devices you may be required to enter your full email address and password again.
Special Note regarding SSL: If you choose SSL disregard any Certificate warnings you may see as we used self signed certificates. On mobile devices this should be a onetime warning. On your desktop PC you may be required accept the warning each time you check your mail, to avoid these warnings disable SSL.
If you are using Verizon DSL to connect to the internet, to send your email you will need to change your outgoing SMTP port from 25 to the submit port 587.
Additional Notes: some droid phones fail to use SSL on port 25, if you have trouble sending email on droid, Disable SSL on outgoing email.
Webhosting customers should use mail.(substitute your domain here).com for both incoming and outgoing.
Outgoing server notes: Because we use SPF for all of our domains, if you are using another internet provider to connect to the internet for your email to work reliably you must use our outgoing mail server for any mail sent from your @vplp.net email addresses.
To adjust your spam filter settings log into webmail and click spam filter in the menu!
Old server addresses are still valid, such as popmail. pop. pop3. and smtp. although we do recommend you use mail.vplp.net as we cannot guarantee the old formats.
